Peach Whiskey Smash
Happy Sunday everyone! I hope that you’re having a good weekend thus far. Whiskey smash is a drink for anyone that’s a fan of mint juleps. The whiskey smash originated in the 19th century, and is one of the classic cocktail drinks. Traditionally whiskey smash is made with lemon as a blend of citrus, mint, and whiskey, so I wanted to mix it up and replace the lemon with some fresh peaches. I reference ounce measurements in this recipes, and I recommend anyone who plans on mixing drinks to buy a jigger. It’s a measuring tool that uses ounces, so it’s perfect for making drinks.
Ingredients
2 oz whiskey
1/3 oz agave
1 peach
1/4 cup water
ice
4 fresh mint leaves
Instructions
Cut the peach in half. Skin 1 half of the peach, and blend with 1/4 cup water to make peach juice.
Fill half a tumbler with ice. Add the whiskey, agave, mint and 1 oz peach juice.
Shake the tumbler, then strain into a glass filled with ice.
Garnish with mint and a slice of peach.
