Gluten Free Potato Football Candies
I hope everyone’s had a fun weekend so far! I’m glad to be back writing on the blog, I took a bit of an unexpected break this month to fix some health issues, but now I’m back in full swing. National Sunday Supper Month was this month, and I’m so excited to be hosting the last Sunday Supper of this amazing month centered around dishes perfect for sports watching parties. Even though it’s the end of the month, you can still take the Sunday Supper pledge, I did!
The recipes for this week’s Sunday Supper are perfect for serving at FIFA, Super Bowl, or Olympics watching parties. We’ve got a great range of appetizers, mains, and desserts that can fulfill your party needs! The recipe I decided to make for today is a simple dessert that is super fun to serve at parties. I hope you like these little dessert bites, and all of the recipes below:
Ingredients
1 russet potato
3 lb powdered sugar
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
1/3 cup butter
1 tsp milk
Instructions
Peel the potato and cut into cubes. Boil until the potato is soft. Drain the water and transfer the potato to a bowl.
Whip the potato until smooth, then whip in the 3lb of sugar. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
In a small bowl, mix the cocoa powder and granulated sugar together.
In a medium bowl, whip the butter, 1 cup powdered sugar, and milk together.
Remove the candy from the fridge, and form into small footballs. Roll in the cocoa mix then place onto a plate.
Pipe the frosting onto the footballs in the shape of football threads.
