Hi everyone, who doesn’t want some white sangria during the summer? Right now CK Mondavi is doing a promotion called “It’s 5 o’clock Anywhere,” and I’m sharing recipes over the next week that feature three different white CK Mondavi wines! To fit CK Mondavi’s summer theme, my first recipe is a sangria recipe that I love to make for parties or cookouts, and I like to use the CK Mondavi Sauvignon Blanc in my sangria recipe. It’s a white wine that offers subtle aromas of lemon, kiwi and herbaceous notes, and is a great companion to seafood, fruit, or mild cheeses. So I tried it out as the main ingredient to the white sangria and loved it!
I met Janice Mondavi at Food Wine Conference 2016, and had a really great lunch with her where we were able to sit down and chat with one another. I hadn’t tried CK Mondavi prior to FWCon, and I really fell in love with their wines. (And to make it even better, they are super affordable! The Sauvignon Blanc in this recipe is $6.99.) I love visiting wineries that are family owned, because you’re able to feel the love they put into the wine, and you get a strong sense of pride in their product because it’s a product of their entire family. And through the amazing lunch Janice and I had, I could tell how much love she has in their wines, and how their business has been such an integral part to their family unit. I loved the stories she shared about their children, and how their work ethic is rooted in the family business.
