I hope y’all have had a great weekend so far! This past week, I posted a video recipe for gluten free, vegan doughnuts and they turned out awesome! I haven’t made many vegan recipes before, so I was a little nervous when creating this recipe. It took a few tries for me to come up with a good recipe, but I’ve come up with a recipe that has a nice texture and taste so I hope y’all enjoy it!

Gluten Free Vegan Doughnuts


  • 3/4 cup sweet rice flour
  • 1/2 cup coconut flour
  • 1/4 cup potato starch
  • 1 tsp guar gum
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup agave
  • 3/4 cup almond milk
  • 1 tsp cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup applesauce
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp almond milk
  • 1 drop red food coloring


  1. Mix the flours, gum, salt, powder, and cinnamon together. Set aside
  2. Preheat the oven to 350F
  3. In a sauce pan, combine the agave, milk, vinegar, applesauce, oil, and vanilla. Heat over medium heat until the mixture starts to steam. Cook for 2 minutes, then add to the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms.
  4. Form the dough into doughnut pans, and bake for 12 minutes.
  5. Once the doughnuts are room temperature, whisk the sugar, milk and food coloring together, then decorate the doughnuts.
