Let’s be honest, life can get busy. Some weeks can get busy between everything going on with life, work, family, and thousands of other things. I know that I have one of those weeks at least once every month, and feel the stress some weeks of figuring out what to eat. This gets aggravated even further by being food free since I can’t go out to eat easily. Which when you think about it is a bit of a double edged sword: I can’t go out easily and grab something quick to eat, but at the same time its easier to avoid extremely unhealthy foods. I wanted to share a few tips with you on how to make your week easier with prepared meals.

Set a scheduled time to make meals. I like to schedule a few hours on the weekend for making lunches and dinners for the week. It may eat into time during my oh so holy weekend time, but it makes weeknights far easier, and you will be surprised on how much less your food bill will be.

Package meals into single or family sized servings. If you’re making servings for yourself or a single family member, package the meals into single servings after making them so they meals are ready to go. On the other hand, if you’re making weekday meals for a family, package them into the servings needed for each night to speed up the warming process.

Have fresh herbs on hand. Sometimes leftovers have that dull, reheated taste or texture. I like to have fresh herbs that I used in preparing the meal on hand. By spending a little bit of time chopping some fresh herbs, you can garnish leftovers and give them new life.
